I am always on the lookout for places to visit in the UK, either for a staycation or just a day trip. Cambridge has been on our go-to list for a while so, earlier this year we finally found the time to do so! We drove up on a weekday and the journey itself was quite pleasant, we had pre-booked parking in a location right next to all the spots we wanted to hit. We were originally going to stay the night and have 2 days to explore but in all honesty you can see everything in a day, especially as all the main locations are close by and within walking distance to each other.
Where To Eat:
As we were here for the day we didn’t get the most amount of time to explore the local food spots. We did have brunch at Fitzbillies, the original and larger branch of Fitzbillies, dating back to 1920, includes the cake shop, a waiter-service café/tearoom serving brunch and afternoon tea and a counter-service coffee shop. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was great!

What To Do:
There is so much to see and do in Cambridge and our favourite activity was the private guided punting tour we had pre-booked in advance. It was a great way to see the sights and learn more about this vibrant city! I have listed the rest below should you need inspo for your own trip:
- Punting
- Bridge of Sighs
- The Fitzwilliam Museum
- Cambridge University
- Kings College, Kings College Chapel
- Trinity College
- Cambridge University Botanic Garden
- Market Square
- The Backs
- Mathematical Bridge
- Central Mosque Cambridge

Safe to say we had an amazing day and I would highly recommend Cambridge if you’re looking a nice getaway for the day or even a long weekend! I will definitely be heading back when I have the chance.
