Spring has finally sprung and I am bringing you an amazing Italian Restaurant recommendation! My sister picked this place and was adamant I try it out as I’m not the biggest fan of Italian cuisine and she was sure this spot would convert me and I can honestly say she was right!
Located between Chelsea and South Kensington, Daphne’s has long been a neighbourhood favourite, serving authentic Italian cuisine since its founding in 1964. The elegant interiors evoke a sense of effortless upscale Italian design, with splashes of vivid painterly colour in the plush leather upholstery, vintage Murano chandeliers and modern European artworks. From the street-side dining room to the lavish bar and conservatory create a feeling of intimacy, while maintaining the sociable buzz of a busy restaurant.
Daphne’s is all about authentic Italian cooking, inspired by the country’s rich culinary heritage and diverse regional cuisine. Authentic dishes made with the finest ingredients, create a menu of Italian classics, among delectable modern variations. The menu follows the classic Italian journey of antipasti and handmade pastas and risottos to second courses of fresh fish, meat and seafood, culminating in a dessert list of sweet temptations and fresh ice cream, made daily.
Since it was just 2 of us dining, we didn’t get to try as much as we wanted but we still managed to order quite a lot! I have listed what we had below:
- Tenderstem Broccoli with Chilli & Garlic
- Deep Fried Courgettes
- Roasted Potatoes with Rosemary Salt
- Linguine with Portland Crab & Chilli
- Tiger Prawns with Chilli, Garlic & Parsley
Everything we had was impeccable and cooked to perfection. The flavours were so well balanced and thought out, the portions were generous and everything was served beautifully. I cannot say enough good things about how amazing the food was. My favourite dish had to be the linguine which was packed full of fresh crab and was an explosion to the senses! I am already planning to visit again but this time dragging all of my sisters along, just so we can order more from the menu. The service was also great with attentive and friendly servers who answered all our questions regarding the menu and offered great recommendations. Let us know if you visit and any Italian food spots we should try next!
