I debated whether or not to put this on the blog since this was the last stop for us after a long day of eating in London therefore we couldn’t try as much food as we wanted. However I decided to add it on since we had a lovely experience and the few dishes we did try were great, so keep on reading to get the details.

The Cinnamon Club first opened its doors in 2001 at the historic Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library and has been redefining the expectations of Indian cooking ever since. Innovative Indian dishes served in a book-lined former Victorian library complete with a downstairs cocktail bar. The restaurant is simply stunning especially to a book lover such as myself!

We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and decided to check out the cocktail bar downstairs for some drinks (non-alcoholic) while we waited. Afterwards, we were shown to our table and the lovely server gave us a run down of the menu as well as the history of the restaurant and library. They have several menus served throughout the day including a unique tasting menu. We picked a couple of dishes from the dinner a la carte menu, since we weren’t super hungry. I have listed what we ordered below:

• Tandoori free range chicken breast with fennel and coriander, kachri chutney
• Spinach, mustard and garlic saag with pickled root vegetables w/ chicken
• Black Lentils
• Garlic and coriander naan

All the dishes we had were delicious but the saag was really fantastic, bursting with flavour and the pickled root vegetables were an unexpected pleasant touch. I definitely want to revisit and explore the menu further on a day we’re not stuffed from eating elsewhere. I would highly recommend The Cinnamon Club, if you are looking for a special restaurant with a well thought out fine dining experience. Let us know if you visit and what you thought!
