This was the highlight of 2023 for me, so I am super excited to share the details of this amazing staycay!

I first encountered West Midlands Safari Lodges on tiktok one day during a mindless scroll and it was instantly added to my saved favourites. I had forgotten about it until recently when my sisters birthday came around and we were wracking our brains for ideas on what to do. I started looking through my saved videos for inspo and came across it once more. We collectively agreed it would be an epic birthday getaway and booked it immediatly. We got quite lucky in terms of availability considering the lodges get fully booked months in advance.

They have 8 different lodges and the animals you can pick from are; Lions, Rhinos, Red Pandas, Wild Dogs, Hippos, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Tigers and Elephants. We opted for the Lion lodge as it was available and seemed like the best one for us. There are 4 Lion lodges within the Lion section which are authentically themed and can sleep up to six guests. Panoramic views of the lions’ new habitat can be witnessed through the large windows in bedrooms and living areas, meaning you can eat, sleep and relax just a whisker away from these magnificent cats. In one bedroom, you will find a king-sized bed. In the other, there are twin single beds with a king-sized bunk bed above, perfect for young adults or children.

The Lion lodge display a bachelor group of lions as they play together and explore their home. They were born at the Park in the summer of 2019! The four brothers are called Havoc, Hodge, Harabi and Hercules with Havoc having the darkest fur of the group.

Prices differ between the lodges as some are cheaper than the others, also the time of booking will impact the amount you pay. The Lion lodge starts at £830 per night for 2 adults. Before you freak out, I will say even I balked at the price when booking but after visiting I can honestly say it was a thousand percent worth it! It is unreal how close you can get to the Lions which is unlike anywhere else. We had the most amazing 2 days and the quality of service was next to none.
