Dining here was actually a life changing experience because it made me appreciate soup! I’ve always been one of those people who look down on soup with disdain and semi disgust. The idea of this liquid concoction serving as a meal baffled me however I’m a total soup girl now!
My sister has been raving about this spot for the longest time and we finally decided to pop in for lunch. To start the location itself is stunning from the pillared entrance when arriving at Bank Station to the interior, it was all a feast for the eyes. As mentioned we had reservations for bang on lunch time so it was a little busy however nothing that affected our overall experience.
Anyway, back to my soup epiphany, when deciding on what to order for some reason the ‘soup of the day’ was just staring at me from the menu. It may have been due to the weather being particularly brisk or simply because the description used words like lemon grass and Thai spiced. Regardless of what it was, I’m glad I made the bold move to order the soup in addition to everything else. You didn’t think that was all I was going to have did you?! Check out what we ate and adored below:
- Spiced Butternut Squash Soup w/ Lemongrass
- Miso Glazed Aubergine with Chickpeas & Salad
- Shrimp Burger w/ Homemade Chips & Chilli Mayonnaise
- It’s All Peachy Mocktail
- Complementary Rice Pudding Dessert
Everything listed above was delicious but the soup was the star of the show, it had the perfect consistency not too thick or thin and the flavours were mind blowing! Something to bare in mind is that their menu changes on a regular basis (almost weekly) for example they have different soup of the days and various changes in the vegetarian dishes so I would highly recommend checking the menu before going on the day or even calling before hand to enquire about any of the dishes I have mentioned above.
In conclusion, we had an amazing experience dining here and I would highly recommend it to everyone! Let us know if you visit and what your thoughts were.
