My baby sister turned 16 recently (which by the way made me feel crazy old!) so we had to go somewhere special! She’d been eyeing Sushisamba on social media for a hot minute so it was a no brainer when it came to making reservations.
Let me start by saying the restaurant has an amazing vibe so it’s absolutely perfect for any special occasion. When you arrive at Heron Tower you go up a glass lift to the restaurant whilst enjoying unlimited views of London. The restaurant is located on the 38th and 39th floors which includes a beautiful outdoor terrace. The lift brings you to the 39th floor where you are greeted and taken to your table, ours was down a short flight of stairs to the main dining area. The décor is rich with vibrant colours and you are surrounded by glass windows offering spectacular views of the city. On the terrace there is a large orange leaf tree covered in fairy lights that make for a stunning photo op.
The menu is a blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian dishes and flavours. We ordered a bunch to try and found that portions were decent. I have listed all we ate below:

- Green Bean Tempura
- Shrimp Tempura
- Asparagus Tempura
- Eggplant in Sweet Soy
- California Roll
- Sasa Roll
- Black Cod
- Mochi
- Super Mango Batida (Mocktail)
- Lychee-Lemongrass Collins (Mocktail)
- Amora (Mocktail)
Out of all the above I would say my favourite was the Black Cod but I’m a sucker for that dish and order it almost everywhere it is served! The food was good but some of the flavours weren’t my favourite however I think it was the overall experience that really made the evening unforgettable. The service was honestly amazing, the staff were so attentive and our orders were taken very promptly with the food coming out shortly after. My sister had a little clumsy moment and dropped on of her drinks on the floor it was cleaned up immediately and they bought out another free of charge!
We finished dinner by surprising my sister with birthday mochi for dessert, which she loved, it was the perfect way to end an amazing night. I would definitely recommend Sushisamba to anyone looking for a special dining experience, let us know if you visit and what you thought, also leave any recommendations on where we should go next!
