Eating at a restaurant for the second time is a true test to see whether the food and service is actually good or not. This spot passed that test with flying colours as both times I visited everything was fantastic! The first time was just before Christmas for lunch, quite spontaneously I might add and we were blown away. Before visiting I hadn’t heard too much about it but it has fast become a favourite. The second time was quite recently on Valentines day and again it was again for lunch. We ordered pretty much the same dishes as the first visit and were not disappointed.

Brasserie of Light is an elegant and contemporary restaurant located in Selfridges on Oxford St London. The décor is super pretty with mirrored walls and Pegasus the 24ft crystal- encrusted Damien Hirst sculpture that soars over diners in a breath taking, colourful space. Even the bathroom is stunning decked out in pink.

I can’t say enough good things about the food which is an eclectic mix of British and internationally inspired cuisine. They have incredible vegan and vegetarian dishes so you’ll fine something for everyone in a menu that is both inclusive and refined. I’ve listed below what we sampled and enjoyed:

• Zucchini Fritti
• Popcorn Shrimp, Creamy Spicy Sauce
• Avocado & Sesame Fried Chicken
• Sole Goujons, Minted Peas, Tarter Sauce and Fries
• Malaysian Prawn Curry and Jasmin Rice
• Miso Black Cod
• Orbit – Dark Chocolate Mousse, Salted Caramel Ice Cream and Honey Comb
• Miss Candy (Mocktail)

Out of the above I would have to say my favourite dish was the Malaysian Prawn Curry, it was packed full of flavour and they do not skimp on the prawns! Let us know if you visit and what you thought, also feel free to leave recommendations on what we should try next!
