Happy love day everyone! Whether you are celebrating with friends, family or significant others I hope you had a great day.
This year my sisters and I enjoyed a cute day out filled with girly cafes and pretty restaurants but last year I threw a mini Galentines party, which was a blast. I didn’t get the chance to upload it then so I thought I would get it up now for any of you looking to have a little get together to celebrate friendship and sisterhood and not just romance!
I’m seeing more and more girls go all out for Galentines day which is awesome! By the way Galentines falls the day before valentines just in case you were wondering. I’ve seen a bunch of stuff on social media where people have gotten really creative and compared to that I reckon my little party was pretty simple but everyone loved it so check out the details below if you want a simple but cute set up!
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s the fact that I am a total sucker for balloons! So, any chance I get to insert balloons into the set up, I’m all about it! Anyway, I did a mixture of pink and red balloons on the ceiling with gold ribbon and it turned out super cute. Pro tip you can save money on helium by using glue dots to secure the balloons. This also makes the balloons last longer since they aren’t foil, they will deflate within a few hours if you use helium. I also had a cluster of foil heart balloons that came with stickers so we could put words or phrases on them. Those coupled with the gold streamers on the wall was a striking background to snap all those selfies!
Food wise I kept it minimal since we were going to order sushi. I had decorated a small surface with our presents for each other, food and drinks. I put out chocolate strawberries which I made using white chocolate and pink food colouring, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, pink chocolate popcorn again and some non-alcoholic jelly shots. That kept us going throughout the day until we got the sushi and we grazed on the leftovers while watching a movie.
We finished the evening by just chilling and chit chatting with the strobe light giving all the vibes! It was super fun and I would highly recommend doing something like this with your girls any time of the year not just for Galentines.
