180 Studios – Lux Exhibition

I’m a huge fan of digital art, I think its super creative, interactive and just plain cool! The Lux Exhibition at 180 Studios has an amazing collection of digital installations that in my opinion are a must see. This particular exhibition is available until 6th February 2022 so be sure to book tickets asap if you want to check it out!

Curated by SUUM in collaboration with Fact and 180 Studios, LUX brings together 12 of the World’s most celebrated artists to expand the boundaries of immersive art and blur the lines between the physical and virtual worlds. Taking over 180 The Strand’s subterranean spaces, LUX features new 180 Studios Commissions from Es Devlin, Hito Steyerl and Julian Knxx alongside the UK premiere of ‘Renaissance Generative Dreams’ by Refik Anadol, and incredible works by Carsten Nicolai, a’strict, Cao Yuxi, Cecilia Bengolea and Universal Everything.

I’m not going to pretend to know a lot about the pieces, what they mean and the artists who created them but it is an immersive and enjoyable experience that highlights the intentions behind the work. We spent 1.5 hours wondering around, taking it all in but you could easily spend longer. A lot of the pieces have areas where you can sit down and be visually stimulated.

Tickets can be booked online and are very inexpensive. We walked from Temple Station and it was easy to find, once you get there you present your tickets and you are directed inside. You can follow the path they have set out from piece to piece or roam at your leisure.

I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in London and are looking for something unique to do. Also, as a side note the video and picture opportunities here are endless if you like to capture and post on socials haha! I dropped a couple of snaps I captured below but not too many to give it all away.
