Saatchi Gallery

During the colder seasons I’m always looking for things to do indoors and what better way to spend a chilled afternoon than wondering through an art gallery. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert in all things art however I enjoy it in its many forms and can appreciate the talent it takes to create something that has the power to inspire.

If you’re a newbie like me, this is a great place to start without getting overwhelmed. The Saatchi Gallery is based in London and is mostly known for contemporary art, it is also an independent charity opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985. Their mission is to support artists and render contemporary art accessible to all by presenting projects in physical and digital spaces that are engaging, enlightening and educational for diverse audiences. The Gallery presents curated exhibitions on themes relevant and exciting in the context of contemporary creative culture.

They regularly have new instillations and exhibitions so it’s always interesting. I visited recently and spent the afternoon absorbed. I find art can provide a space to explore your capacity to think and feel. A quiet introspection is so valuable to mental health and overall wellbeing in my opinion.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I’m always blown away by the talent! I would 100% recommend making the trip and checking it out. They have a small fee to enter but it’s totally worth it plus it supports the gallery and its artists which is great! I’ll pop some pictures below but not too many as I don’t want to spoil it for those who will visit. Let me know what type of art you enjoy and any galleries you would recommend.
