So, it was my birthday last week and I decided to have a city girl stay-cay with my sisters in London. We had the best time spending a couple of days together at our Airbnb apartment in Kensington. Although we weren’t that far from home it did feel like a little holiday. You can find some pretty amazing Airbnb’s across the UK, especially in London where you have access to endless sights, activities and places to eat.
I’m still not too sure about travelling abroad with all the rules and restrictions in place, so this was the perfect alternative. We planned dinners and activities around the stay which was great! We also took card games with us to play whilst chilling in the Airbnb. I would highly recommend doing this if you have a special celebration coming up or just want a change of scenery. It’s also super nice to get away and re-connect with loved ones, my sisters and I definitely had some bonding sessions filled with so much laughter.
Our two floor apartment in Kensington was beautifully decorated and super spacious for us to set up all our things including birthday décor. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open plan living room/ kitchen which suited the 4 of us perfectly. It was our first time staying at an Airbnb and we loved the easy convenience of it. We were given codes to enter the building and our apartment as well as having an online 24/7 concierge service to assist us with any issues. The location was also perfect since we were within walking distance to shops, restaurants and underground stations.
On my actual birthday I woke up to the cutest surprise where my sisters arranged a set up with all my presents and balloons as well as a mini brunch buffet. All my favourite treats were served and it was perfect to continue grazing on throughout the day until our dinner reservations in the evening. More details on the brunch is coming up on a separate post so keep an eye out!
Overall, I would have to say this was one of my favourite birthdays so far! Maybe it’s because we were finally allowed out under semi normal conditions and it felt good to celebrate that alongside turning 31! It’s funny because any time I mention my age in conversation no one believes me and they think I’m younger but I do feel older this year and definitely wiser!
Let me know how you celebrated your birthday this year and what your plans are for the little bit of Summer we have left.
P.s if you’re wondering who Jen is… it’s me, my nickname at home is Jenny and that is what my entire family know me as, so that’s why the sign says Jen.
