Can I be honest? The main reason I wanted to go to The Florist, was because of the décor. The place is floral perfection, for example in one of the dining areas there are large pink blossom trees! The restaurant is an Instagram picture waiting to happen! However, it’s not just a pretty face, the food is fantastic and the service impeccable.
The Florist is new to Watford and the moment I found out about it I wanted to go. Both times I’ve visited, it’s been for lunch. The first time we didn’t explore the menu too much but the second time, we got super lucky as they had just launched a brand new menu, that same day. We took it as an opportunity to order and try a bunch of items. We were served by a lovely waitress, who helpfully explained and recommended dishes to us. I can safely say, we loved every item that we tried.
In terms of price, it’s very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food you receive. Everything was served beautifully and that just heightened the experience.
The menu is diverse as they have dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian and non-gluten options. They don’t serve halal meat but that was fine for us as we were happy with the seafood and vegetarian items. I would describe the menu as being Asian inspired with a modern twist.
So, let’s get to the interesting part of what we ate. As I mentioned before, when we went the first time, the lunch menu was not as broad, so we opted for:
- Vegetable gyoza
- Battered fish served with sriracha fries, mushy peas and curry sauce
- Juniper Garden (non-alcoholic cocktail)
The second time:
- Bang-Bang Cauliflower
- Crispy Rice Balls
- Sriracha Fries
- Tempura Prawns
- Bao Bun Board – Vegetable option
- Tempura Prawn Sushi Roll
- Honey Peach Cooler (non-alcoholic cocktail)
I would have ordered more but it was just 2 of us that day and we had all the above to get through. We have already picked out items we want to try the next time we go so I’m looking forward to that! I thoroughly enjoyed dining here and would recommend it highly.
